The only downside? Let’s just say I don’t have the ideal physique for this type of suit, so I prefer to wear a shirt over it. But that’s more about me than the suit itself! Functionally, it’s top-notch, and if you’re looking for a well-made tri suit that delivers on comfort and performance, this is a great choice.
Highly recommend!
I did notice that there's not much info available on the product page about it. Of course, based on the material of this triathlon suit and my particular intended use of it (primarily pool-swimming in chlorinated water), I won't think negatively of it if the material doesn't last as long since polyamide doesn't seem to have good chlorine resistance. That said, I've been using it a bit so far since getting it, and I have been liking it so far! Although it's still summer and the pool water has been quite warm (in the lower 80°F range) so I haven't needed it yet, I look forward to using it more during Fall when the pool temp starts to lower.
I ordered based on the sizing chart of course, and an XL seemed to fit my needs. My chest measurement is a bit over 40",my waist is about 36", and my height is slightly under 6'2", and the XL fit me perfectly! I was particularly happy that my height didn't cause the shoulder straps to strain too much. However, there's a bit of tightness in the crotch area though it isn't too uncomfortable, and once swimming I don't even notice it. Of course, the seat also has cushioning for biking, the legs have grippers to help prevent them riding up, and the zipper on the back is easy to get due to the long strap. If you can't reach to the middle of your shoulder blades or the small of your back easily, you may have issues. Fortunately, I have not felt any discomfort whatsoever with the zipper on the inside, and that is likely due to the covering over said zipper so it doesn't rub against your back. One other nice thing about this suit is that it has small pockets at the back waist on each side to put small items in.
Overall, I find this triathlon suit to be a great value and hope that it will last a reasonable amount of time for my pool-swimming, though I honestly won't fault it if it doesn't last too long due to the material (though I will be sure to rinse it after each swim). If you plan to use this for salt water, however, I'm sure it will hold up much more reliably!
My first ride in this suit was a revelation... clearly there's a reason triathletes use these suits: they are form fitting, wick sweat away from your body, dry quickly, and because they don't require layers there's nothing to bunch up and create irritations. I chose to wear a UV blocking t-shirt over the top but if sleeveless works for you, or you'll be swimming in it, this onesie is all you'll need.
I would prefer to have the zipper in the front of the suit as I have limited mobility in one shoulder.
The suit does provide a bit of warmth. The padding in the crotch area would also help in riding a bike. I think that the thickness in those areas are kept to a minimum to in order to keep the weight of the suit as low as possible for tri-athletes.
